Why We Started in Nigeria?
Nigeria has one of the most active community cultures in the world. Professional networks, faith groups, tech communities, women's circles, creative collectives, alumni associations — Nigerians build and join communities with extraordinary energy.
And yet the infrastructure for finding those communities has not kept up. The discovery problem is real, it is daily, and it is ours to solve.
We are starting in Nigeria because this is where the problem is most urgent and where we understand it best. Pan-Africa is the vision. Lagos is where we begin.
Where We Are Today?
We launched quietly seven months ago. No big announcement, no press release — just heads down, building and learning.
Today we have over 30 communities listed across categories including Tech, Founders, Women in Tech, Learning and Digital Skills, and Fun and Hangouts. We are legally registered, we have two strategic partnerships in progress, and we are building in public every step of the way.
This is not a finished product. It is a platform with a clear direction and real communities already on it. We are building the rest in the open — which means you get to watch, contribute, and shape what BLOCspace becomes.
What Is Coming?
We are currently building the community claim and verification system — so community owners can take control of their listings, complete their profiles, and earn their BLOC'd badge.
The blog you are reading right now is part of that build. We plan to tell real community stories, share practical guides for community builders, and document our own journey honestly.
In the months ahead: more communities, more categories, growth tools for community owners, and the infrastructure to connect active communities with the partners and investors who want to support them.
